It was colder than he remembered it.

It was still seductively easy to believe time had stopped once over
the rim; resting at the secret spot Barringer had discovered just below
his cabin - thinking about the first time he chose to "descend into
Oblivion, or enter the great book of History", so many years ago - but
this was the one time Tycho could not risk being stopped.
He chose again, and woke to the Dream that had lost little grandeur
coming true.
The full moon approaching it's zenith, the great-grandson of Erich
Zann stepped onto the Crater floor once more, still wondering what some
real wattage could have done.
Far above him, more power than Earth had ever known, was ready to end
the Nightmare that had kept the planet asleep.
