Few people can name
the Seven Wonders of the World.
Everyone knows that
the Great Pyramid at Giza was one. Some may remember paintings
of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon,
or the Colossus of Rhodes from their childhood. Few realize that
Carl Denham introduced "KONG," the Eighth Wonder of the World,
to a stunned New York audience. Except for the Giza Plateau, the
original seven are all gone without a trace. We at Planetary Mysteries
believe that we need New Wonders of the World, or in keeping with
the advances of the Human Race, perhaps it should be Worlds?
Time fears the Pyramids
and we keep them at the top of the new list, but it is a list
that will include the Face on Mars, Fractal Crop Circles, The
Wall (BERLIN),
the
Internet, and JEFF BECK. We invite you all to e-mail
your suggestions for this list of New Wonders to us, and we urge
you to check out the Ancient ones at least one more time.
Perhaps what will
truly mark the passage of the Human Race into the 21st Century
is that the New Wonders of the World will have no end.

Sixteen
years and four months after this page went up on the original
Planetary Mysteries, Yahoo! (Go Nellie!) is sponsoring
a contest to name the New Wonders Of The World.
That
alone, may qualify as a wonder itself.
